mission
The mission of Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) is to address the dramatic under-representation of African Americans, Hispanics, and Native Americans in leadership positions in corporations, entrepreneurial ventures, and nonprofit organizations by broadening the talent pipeline and strengthening the prospects of minority candidates for top MBA programs. MLT helps students maximize achievement at 3 important transition points in their professional development: from high school to college, college to early career, and early career to MBA.

growth
  • Doubled revenue from $1 million to $2 million between 2004 and 2005.
  • Grew all 3 programs in its leadership development pipeline in 2005, increasing the number of MBA Prep Program participants to 190; Career Prep Program participants to 114, and those enrolled in 4XL, an online virtual careers office for high school and early college students, to 3,300 registered students.

impact
  • In just 3 years, MLT has become the #1 source of minority talent for the top 10 business schools in the U.S. through its network of dedicated partners, including more than 20 corporate partners and 25 MBA school partners, all of which pay for MLT's services, and hire or admit MLT students.
  • MLT has also cultivated nearly 200 corporate volunteers who work with MLT students to nurture diverse talent. Some of these mentors are MLT alumni who are already giving back.

looking ahead
By 2010, MLT aspires to have increased minority enrollment in the top 25 U.S. MBA programs by 50% and to serve more than 25,000 students through the 4XL program. By 2015, MLT plans to double minority enrollment at the top 25 MBA programs and help place MLT alumni in leadership positions at the most prestigious firms, successful entrepreneurial ventures, and influential nonprofit organizations across the country.
