Investor Community
Our investor community is made up of individuals and families who are passionate about creating the greatest possible social impact with their philanthropy.
Our investors are well-versed in many areas of giving and are generous donors to hospitals, the arts, their alma maters, and more. Still, they often tell us that philanthropy targeting social change is especially hard to navigate. It can take a significant commitment of time and a deep understanding of the issues to be able to confidently select high-performing nonprofit organizations working in education, workforce development, and other areas vital to social mobility. Our donors choose to direct a portion of their philanthropy to New Profit because they value our expertise, our capacity for selecting leading social entrepreneurs and their programs, and the active role we play in managing our investments' growth and performance. By partnering with New Profit, our investors ensure that their charitable dollars are put to their highest and best use.

New Profit's investor community includes approximately 50 individuals, families, and lightly-staffed family foundations from across the country. The largest concentrations of donors are located in Boston and New York City. Many have backgrounds in business, with strong representation from leading venture capital and private equity firms and hedge funds.

A typical donation to New Profit is paid over multiple years. Our investors consider themselves members of a like-minded community committed to helping innovative nonprofit organizations grow and dramatically improve opportunities for children, families, and communities across America. Many have been working with us for nearly a decade and are invaluable partners. In addition, many New Profit investors choose to engage with our portfolio organizations directly.
